This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Formulate and implement the regional Project Procurement strategy in alignment with business expansion goals.
• Direct the development of the Project Procurement organization to accommodate increasing business intricacies and future expansion.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture around 30 procurement professionals through various Team Leaders.
• Implement succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
• Manage procurement activities throughout the project lifecycle, which includes strategy formulation, purchase order execution, supplier performance oversight, expediting, documentation management, resolution of commercial issues, claims support, risk mitigation, and final project closure.
• Ensure that procurement activities fulfill project commitments concerning schedule, budget, cash flow, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Establish uniform procurement processes and promote best practices along with operational discipline.
• Create KPIs and performance dashboards.
• Enhance productivity through Lean principles and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Spearhead digital transformation initiatives involving procurement systems, reporting, automation, and analytics.
• Strengthen strategic supplier partnerships and engagement at the executive level.
• Oversee supplier quality, delivery performance, and commercial competitiveness.
• Propel supplier performance enhancement and aid in supplier development and qualification.
• Provide senior procurement leadership and strategic advice to Project Directors, Project Managers, Commercial Leaders, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Planning, Construction, and Global Sourcing.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures, maintain governance, mitigate risks, support contract strategies and negotiations, and ensure audit readiness.
• Drive cost optimization, cash flow management, accuracy in forecasting, adherence to budget, productivity enhancements, procurement savings, and claims mitigation.
• Influence senior leadership across a matrix organization and spearhead organizational change.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
• At least 15 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Management, or EPC execution.
• A minimum of 8 years in leadership roles within large procurement organizations.
• Proven experience in leading managers and developing leadership teams.
• Experience supporting extensive industrial, infrastructure, energy, or EPC projects.
• Experience working within a complex global matrix organization.
• Strong commercial and contractual acumen.
• Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
• Proficient in English.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
• Excellent skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in French is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
• An MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred.
• CPSM, CIPS, PMP, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP and digital procurement platforms is preferred.
• Experience in international project procurement is an asset.
• Background in managing teams of 20+ procurement professionals is preferred.
• Knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment, EPC execution, construction, logistics, and supplier quality is preferred.
