Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of project delivery across a portfolio of simultaneous professional services engagements, which include infrastructure deployments, cloud migrations, and modern work implementations.

• Lead project initiation, scoping validation, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and formal project closure.

• Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the delivery process, establishing cadence, communicating status updates, managing expectations, and escalating delivery risks as needed.

• Oversee project budgets and hours in relation to approved Statements of Work (SOWs), identify scope variances, and manage change orders to safeguard gross margin.

• Coordinate efforts among Harbor IT engineers, solutions architects, third-party contractors, subcontractors, and vendor resources.

• Maintain project records in ConnectWise Manage, including time entries, project phases, task statuses, milestones, and billing triggers.

• Generate project plans, meeting minutes, status reports, risk logs, and summaries following project closure.

• Collaborate with fellow project managers and the PMO to standardize processes, templates, and tools.

• Work alongside solutions architects and account managers during kickoff to confirm scope, identify risks, and ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to delivery.

• Report resource shortages, technical obstacles, and client satisfaction issues to practice leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in managing complex IT project delivery within an MSP, systems integrator, or technology consulting context.

• Strong expertise in scope management, schedule development, resource planning, risk identification, change control, and budget oversight.

• Proficient in professional services automation tools, preferably ConnectWise Manage.

• Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects across various technical domains.

• Understanding of commercial considerations and gross margin discipline, including proactive management of change orders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical delivery status in business-friendly language.

• Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams, including on-site engineers, remote engineers, subcontractors, and vendor resources.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced growth environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.

• Over 5 years of IT project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on delivering professional services in an MSP or technology consulting setting.

• PMP certification is required or must be in progress; CAPM or an equivalent certification may be considered for candidates with a strong MSP delivery background.

• Strong preference for experience with ConnectWise Manage or a comparable PSA platform.

• Familiarity with infrastructure, cloud, and Microsoft 365 deployment projects is preferred.

• Occasional travel for client project kickoffs, site visits, and Harbor IT team meetings is anticipated.
