Senior Project Engineer, M 365, Network and Backup

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Provide support for managed Veeam backup services across client environments in an MSP setting

• Monitor, investigate, and resolve issues related to backup and restoration

• Assist in restore verification, ensuring backup reliability, addressing issues, and conducting emergency recovery operations

• Communicate effectively with MSP engineers and technical stakeholders

• Maintain precise technical documentation, including escalation notes and information for clients

• Execute technical projects related to Microsoft 365, infrastructure, compliance, and enhancements to client environments

• Contribute to the uplift initiatives for Essential Eight maturity while applying practical knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance

• Plan and implement technical changes, taking into account scope, risk, rollback options, and client impact

• Troubleshoot complex issues related to Microsoft 365, endpoints, infrastructure, backups, and hypervisors

• Provide support for Windows and macOS environments, including administration and troubleshooting of endpoints

• Identify recurring technical challenges and formulate scalable solutions

• Engage professionally with MSP clients, technical contacts, and internal stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in an MSP, IT service provider, backup, infrastructure, or project engineering context

• Extensive experience with Veeam, with the capability to confidently support and discuss backup solutions with technical stakeholders

• Strong administration experience in Microsoft 365, focusing on security, compliance, identity, and client environment enhancement

• Experience with Essential Eight uplift projects or comparable cybersecurity and compliance frameworks

• Solid understanding of hypervisors, infrastructure, endpoints, backups, and disaster recovery

• Proven ability to independently manage technical tasks and priorities within a small technical team

• Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to risk management, rollback planning, and client impact considerations

• Police clearance or willingness to undergo background checks as necessary
