Senior Program Manager – Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee multiple simultaneous construction and infrastructure projects on a global scale.

• Develop strategies for project execution, staffing plans, schedules, budgets, reporting frequency, and performance metrics.

• Track project progress, proactively identify risks, and take necessary actions to prevent impacts on cost, schedule, quality, or client trust.

• Guide, mentor, and enhance the skills of Project Managers, Superintendents, Site Leads, subcontractors, and independent contractors.

• Allocate personnel based on project intricacies, geographical considerations, clearance needs, and individual skill sets.

• Set clear expectations, ensure accountability among teams, and assist in recruiting, onboarding, and performance evaluation.

• Supervise construction activities such as site preparation, renovations, infrastructure enhancements, low-voltage systems, communication systems, security infrastructure, mobilization, commissioning, project turnover, and closeout.

• Guarantee that work is conducted safely, professionally, and in line with contractual obligations.

• Collaborate with the Sales team on construction estimating tasks for proposals, task orders, ROMs, firm-fixed-price estimates, and change orders.

• Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor/vendor quotes, constructability assessments, site visits, and proposal preparation.

• Work with Procurement for formal buyouts and purchasing following award announcements.

• Manage program-level cost control, budgeting, forecasting, project financial assessments, billing milestones, labor utilization, subcontractor performance, and change order management.

• Ensure accurate documentation, contract adherence, flow-down requirements, and timely corrective measures.

• Comply with relevant federal construction regulations, including EM 385-1-1, OSHA, Davis-Bacon, certified payroll, contract documentation, and USACE three-phase quality control where applicable.

• Act as a senior liaison for government clients, Contracting Officers, CORs, end users, primes, subcontractors, vendors, and internal management.

• Represent VIRSIG in a professional manner during project meetings, progress assessments, executive briefings, and customer escalations.

• Enhance and refine project management processes, templates, workflows, SOPs, reporting tools, and project controls.

• Support the deployment of systems like Procore or similar tools.

• Assist in developing repeatable processes to bolster VIRSIG’s scalability.

• Collaborate with VIRSIG’s Technology/Security program leadership when construction projects involve ESS, access control, video surveillance, communications, or other integrated technology scopes.

• Ensure that construction and technology teams function as a cohesive VIRSIG unit.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Project Management, or a related field.

• Certification such as PMP, CCM, PE, or equivalent.

• Over 8 years of progressive experience in construction project management.

• More than 5 years of experience leading project teams, field personnel, subcontractors, or operational functions.

• Proven experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and project managers.

• Strong understanding of construction estimating, schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs, change orders, risk management, and project closeout.

• Experience in managing subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Availability to work during Eastern and/or Central time zone business hours.

• Willingness to travel to active job sites, client meetings, and pre-proposal site visits as necessary.
