Senior Product Owner, Oracle Financial Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Serve as the customer's advocate to strategically prioritize the product backlog of epics, features, and stories across essential financial streams, including Accounting, Grants & Project Management (PGM), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Financial Close, and Budgeting & Planning.

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to create succinct epics, features, and stories.

• Ensure accurate metadata is collected to facilitate a precise product roadmap and reporting.

• Develop clearly defined user stories and collaborate with the engineering team to establish acceptance criteria, definitions of done, and failure points.

• Work alongside the Portfolio Leader, Product Manager, and finance stakeholders to create feedback mechanisms with customers to evaluate and monitor the value delivered, with a particular emphasis on ROI, audit readiness, and reporting accuracy.

• Contribute to the portfolio-level product roadmap by drafting ideas in a lean business case format on the Jira Product Discovery board for consideration based on customer insights.

• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with Oracle and third-party vendors for issue resolution and optimization of the ERP platform.

• Oversee the ongoing Oracle Cloud COTS lifecycle, which includes defining necessary quarterly upgrade testing and validation stories to ensure non-profit specific configurations and compliance reports are preserved.

• Collaborate with the Portfolio Leader, Product Manager, business stakeholders, and squad to prepare for quarterly planning events and enterprise-level retrospective ceremonies.

• Actively engage in delivery squad ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) and portfolio-level events (quarterly planning, enterprise-level retrospective, innovation ceremonies, and system demos).

• Define, validate, and support user acceptance testing for configuration changes and new module implementations (e.g., Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent years of demonstrated practical experience in supporting Oracle Cloud ERP or similar tier-one financial COTS solutions.

• 7 – 8+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in financial systems management, ERP product ownership, or business architecture.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience leading the implementation, optimization, configuration, and support of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP modules (especially General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Procurement, or PGM modules).

• 3+ years of experience spearheading cross-functional global delivery teams, managing product backlogs, and facilitating squad ceremonies in Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, DAD, project management, or process improvement).

• Proficient with product management tools (such as Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence) for maintaining backlog data integrity, metadata tagging, and real-time roadmap reporting.

• Strong capability to articulate technical and financial concepts or plans and facilitate working sessions with cross-functional teams and high-level stakeholders.

• Proven ability to build strategic relationships with external software vendors (like Oracle) for issue resolution, platform optimization, and ensuring alignment across Finance, Accounting, and Procurement.
