
Senior Product Manager – Prior Authorization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge and steer the roadmap for the connectivity pillar, encompassing EHR integrations, payer connectivity, and document exchange.
• Establish priorities and ensure accountability among engineering, interface/integrations, and support teams regarding roadmap commitments.
• Perform market and competitive analysis to pinpoint growth opportunities and align Sales with capabilities, supported EHRs, payers, and specialties.
• Act as the executive product owner for connectivity outcomes that impact customers.
• Engage with customers and implementation leadership to identify issues, develop solutions, and translate requirements into roadmap commitments.
• Oversee internal and customer-facing training, enablement, and documentation efforts.
• Set the technical and product standards for X12 278, FHIR API, CDS Hooks, and Da Vinci IG interfaces across EHRs, including Epic and Cerner.
• Define the strategy for payer connectivity and prior authorization submission pathways.
• Standardize customer integrations towards centralized, configurable platform features.
• Manage the product’s presence in the Epic App Market and equivalent partner ecosystems.
• Direct the interface/integrations engineering priorities and backlog, collaborating on staffing, sequencing, and delivery processes.
• Team up with Support and platform/interoperability engineering on monitoring and ensuring operational readiness.
• Coordinate go-to-market strategies with Product Marketing and Sales teams.
• Oversee product documentation, implementation guides, and success criteria for testing, beta programs, and product acceptance.
• Utilize database queries and product analytics to assess payer submission performance, conduct experiments, and report results to leadership.
• Monitor interoperability standards and trends in prior authorization technology.
• Proven experience in implementing and supporting prior authorization automation solutions for provider health systems.
• Background in prior authorization, revenue cycle management, or payer connectivity.
• At least 3 years of experience in software product management, with complete roadmap ownership and direct accountability for cross-team execution.
• Practical experience with Epic prior authorization integrations, including X12 278.
• Proficient in FHIR, CDS Hooks, and Da Vinci implementation guides.
• Demonstrated ability to lead or closely collaborate with engineering, design, and operations teams to achieve product outcomes.
• Experience presenting to customers, leadership, and partners as the executive-facing representative of a technical domain.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project and time management skills, handling multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Preferred experience with Cerner Millennium or other EHRs like Allscripts, Athena, ModMed, or eCW.
• Preferred experience in building or directing integrations between Epic and third-party products.
• Familiarity with startup environments and comfort with ownership and ambiguity is preferred.
• Preferred training or certification in product management.
