This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as the sole owner, merging senior Product Lead and General Manager responsibilities.
• Report within the Product domain with a comprehensive business mandate.
• Oversee the initiative from start to finish, encompassing customer experience, technology, and economic aspects.
• Be responsible for outcomes across Product, Engineering, AI/Data, Compliance, Operations, Partnerships, and Finance.
• Lead a small, senior, cross-functional team to validate or invalidate the thesis within 90 days.
• Develop an evaluation framework for thorough and accurate identification of licenses and permits across various states, counties, cities, industries, and levels of complexity.
• Establish processes for AI extraction, ML classification and confidence, deterministic rules, human review, labeled feedback, and a continuous improvement cycle.
• Manage the build-versus-buy analysis and unit economic model, including AI research costs, human review rates, filing, renewal, and recurring subscription economics.
• Validate demand across Bizee.com, Bizee Pro, Partner APIs, and workflows ready for agents.
• Transform evidence into recommendations for product, pricing, packaging, and sequencing.
• Scale the business following the initial 90-day mission, paving the way towards GM and Compliance roles.
• Oversee customer discovery, market opportunity, product strategy, pricing and packaging, unit economics, build-versus-buy decisions, distribution strategy, and the Phase 0 investment case.
• Design a conversational discovery experience that captures business context for precise compliance determination.
• Convert historical license orders and completed reports into a labeled evaluation set, training data, and the foundation of a compliance graph.
• Define the regulatory operating model, including accuracy thresholds, liability framework, and human review requirements.
• Manage the Phase 0 team and its combined deliverables.
• Proven experience in building or scaling a zero-to-one product, business, regulated workflow, fintech product, legaltech product, vertical SaaS platform, or similarly intricate operating system.
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of outcomes.
• Ability to exercise zero-to-one judgment: converting ambiguity into hypotheses, experiments, evidence, decisions, and products.
• Strong understanding of customers, pricing, packaging, unit economics, distribution, and profit & loss management.
• Proficiency in AI concepts, including evaluation, precision and recall, confidence thresholds, feedback loops, labeled data, human-in-the-loop systems, and model economics.
• Analytical capability: establishing baselines, designing experiments, challenging assumptions, and making decisions based on incomplete evidence.
• Operational rigor across software, data, personnel, customers, and regulatory controls.
• Comfort with complex regulations and edge cases.
• A proactive approach.
• High standards coupled with humility.
• Direct experience in compliance or licensing domains is preferred but not mandatory.
• A formal MBA or CS degree is not a strict requirement.
