This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• You will take charge of the entire pricing and monetization landscape — from the infrastructure that supports every price we display to the strategy that dictates our charges, bundling options, and areas for expansion.
• This role is transformative. We are transitioning from three separate pricing frameworks to an integrated dynamic pricing system. The roadmap consists of 11 priorities, has a dedicated engineering team, and currently lacks a full-time product owner.
• Dynamic pricing roadmap: Consolidate three legacy pricing systems into a unified pricing service. Organize the sequence of the 11-priority roadmap, make tradeoff decisions, and execute the rollout.
• Pricing strategy: Establish pricing for over 24 services across mowing, non-mowing, and emerging sectors. Achieve a balance between conversion rates, margins, and Pro economics.
• New revenue models: Introduce bundles, add-ons (e.g., "bag my clippings"), channel discounts, and frequency-based pricing — none of which are currently in place.
• Service availability: Analyze where and when to provide services based on supply, demand, and profitability indicators.
• Experimentation framework: Implement A/B testing for pricing adjustments, assessing their impact on conversion rates, margins, and Pro claim rates.
• AI-savvy. You utilize AI on a daily basis — for scenario modeling, pricing analysis, data exploration, and drafting specifications. You integrate AI into your workflow in innovative ways. This role may not suit you if you regard AI as a mere novelty rather than a fundamental productivity tool.
• A systems thinker who designs platforms, not just sets prices. You perceive pricing as a comprehensive system: inputs, rules, feedback loops, and edge cases. You can create a pricing architecture that accommodates 24 services across three brands with varying economics and communicate it effectively to engineers. This role may not suit you if your pricing experience is restricted to spreadsheets or optimizing a single product's price point.
• Data-informed, not reliant on data. You collaborate with the data team to establish optimization goals and interpret results. You recognize when data is lacking and a judgment call is necessary. This role may not suit you if you either disregard data or wait for perfect information before making decisions.
• Technically proficient. You engage directly with engineers on API design, discuss schema tradeoffs, and review technical design documentation with meaningful feedback. You don’t code, but you gain engineering trust by communicating effectively. This role may not suit you if you view engineering as a black box or require everything to be presented in business terms.
• A patient builder. Achieving pricing improvements requires foundational infrastructure — a pricing API, a data product, migration tools. You find motivation in laying the groundwork rather than feeling frustrated by the absence of immediate results. This role may not suit you if you seek quick wins to maintain motivation or lose interest when the focus is on foundational work.
• Monetization-focused. You recognize bundles, add-ons, service availability, and frequency pricing as revenue opportunities, not merely features. You instinctively consider margin, willingness to pay, and Pro economics. This role may not suit you if you perceive pricing as a one-time decision rather than an ongoing optimization challenge.
• Base salary: $140,000 – $175,000
• Equity: Your pricing decisions significantly influence revenue, margins, and conversions at scale. We want you to be invested in the long-term success of the system you are developing.
