This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee P&L outcomes within designated regions, states, and product categories; ensure adequacy of rates and effective management of CAT exposure.
• Develop and launch new offerings while collaborating with State departments to secure necessary approvals.
• Lead and manage the process of revising rates and rules from start to finish: validating scope and timelines, preparing regulatory submissions, coordinating with vendors, addressing regulator inquiries, and executing approved modifications.
• Innovate and introduce new initiatives to the market that align with growth and profitability objectives, including new products, coverage options, endorsements, and geographic expansions.
• Collaborate with Actuarial and Analytics teams to utilize quantitative methods for evaluating state-level profitability, identifying opportunities, and providing recommendations for enhancements.
• Analyze competitor submissions, rate algorithms, and underwriting standards, as well as industry and regulatory trends, to guide product launches and improvements.
• Enforce underwriting guidelines aimed at achieving business objectives.
• Offer strategic insights to Segment Leaders to refine market entry strategies and product positioning.
• Establish and uphold clear priorities among competing product initiatives to ensure execution sequencing aligns with business impact.
• Mentor and coach junior team members to enhance organizational capabilities.
• 8+ years of experience in P&C insurance, with a strong focus on personal homeowner’s product management.
• Proven P&L management across various states and product lines, including ratemaking, underwriting, product development, and regulatory compliance.
• Successful history of launching new products, coverages, or endorsements, or expanding into new markets.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; capable of conducting detailed quantitative analysis.
• Knowledge of E&S property products in addition to admitted homeowners.
• Experience in the California admitted homeowners’ market.
• Proficiency with SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, or similar data querying and programming tools.
• Master’s degree in business, Insurance, or Actuarial Science, or a relevant professional qualification.
