Senior Product Manager, Compute & Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Establish and steer the product strategy for Akamai's compute offerings.

• Integrate technical hardware layers with developer experiences, ensuring compute instances deliver outstanding value compared to conventional cloud providers.

• Manage the compute lifecycle, encompassing hardware evaluations and features within the cloud platform's virtualization layer.

• Collect, document, and convey business and technical requirements.

• Formulate and implement the product strategy, roadmap, and execute the product plan.

• Cultivate relationships with cross-functional teams, such as sales and marketing, to advocate products and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

• Evaluate operational metrics and trends to oversee and enhance product KPIs, revenue, and profitability, developing business cases and margin analysis.

• Become the go-to expert in alternative cloud infrastructure trends, bare-metal innovations, and the competitive market landscape.

• Compile feedback and prioritize development efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12 years of experience in product management or product development in cloud, virtualization, server infrastructure, or a related field.

• Showcase technical proficiency in virtualization concepts, multi-tenant cloud architectures, hypervisors, and CPU/IO hardware architectures.

• Exhibit the capability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence hardware engineering and software development stakeholders.

• Have a working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code ecosystems, cloud capacity lifecycle management, and Linux systems architecture.

• Demonstrate a remarkable ability to comprehend, define, and communicate the business and technical value of complex cloud primitives.

• Possess strong relationship-building skills and experience in collaborating with customers and technology partners.
