Senior Product Manager – Commercial & Contract Management, Construction & Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Articulate and convey the vision and strategy for Commercial & Contract Management within IFS Construction & Engineering.

• Create a distinct market presence that encompasses contract management, procurement, subcontract management, and commercial controls.

• Convert customer insights, market dynamics, industry knowledge, and competitive analysis into targeted product investments.

• Oversee and refine a roadmap that balances innovation, architectural upgrades, user adoption, customer retention, and commercial expansion.

• Foster alignment among project management, project controls, procurement, finance, project accounting, risk management, and document management.

• Collaborate with construction and engineering clients to comprehend commercial processes, procurement workflows, contractual risks, and operational models.

• Cultivate relationships with customers, partners, and industry specialists.

• Confirm customer challenges and product opportunities prior to making investments.

• Identify lighthouse customers and design partners for exploration, prototyping, validation, and early adoption.

• Specify product requirements, customer challenges, business outcomes, user workflows, acceptance criteria, and success metrics.

• Lead functional prototyping and validate solutions with actual users.

• Collaborate with engineering and design as part of a high-performing product triad.

• Ensure a seamless end-to-end commercial management experience across contracts, procurement, project execution, change management, cost control, revenue management, and commercial risk.

• Develop investment cases that highlight customer, strategic, and financial outcomes.

• Partner with engineering and design to transition from validated problems to adopted products.

• Assist with positioning, enablement, launch planning, and customer engagement initiatives.

• Represent the product domain with customers, prospects, partners, analysts, and internal stakeholders.

• Propel adoption from initial customers to scalable market presence.

• Evaluate customer outcomes, adoption rates, retention, revenue influence, and commercial impact.

• Discover AI-driven opportunities in procurement, supplier management, contract administration, obligation management, commercial risk, and contract change management.

• Utilize AI for discovery, research, prototyping, and product definition.

• Ensure AI-powered capabilities yield measurable business results and reliable decision support.

• Develop reusable product capabilities for global construction and engineering business models.

• Mentor colleagues and enhance product management practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive product management experience in a software company focusing on SaaS, ERP, construction management, project management, procurement, or enterprise software solutions.

• Direct accountability for commercial management, contract management, procurement management, subcontract management, project controls, or similar capabilities within an enterprise software portfolio.

• Strong expertise in construction, engineering, EPC, infrastructure, contractors, specialized subcontractors, or project-driven industries.

• In-depth knowledge of customer and sales contracts, procurement and supplier obligations, subcontract management, change orders and contract variations, commercial obligations and compliance, valuation, payment, retention and claims, and their impacts on cost, revenue, margin, and cash flow.

• Proven track record of overseeing product strategy, roadmap development, discovery, delivery, launch, and adoption.

• Solid customer-facing experience engaging both operational users and executive stakeholders.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization abilities.

• Experience working collaboratively with global engineering and design teams.

• Proficient in English communication skills.

• Located in Europe or North America, with a willingness to travel as necessary.

• Preferred: experience in construction commercial management, quantity surveying, procurement management, contract administration, or project controls.

• Preferred: familiarity with major construction contracting models and commercial delivery frameworks utilized in Europe or North America.

• Preferred: experience with construction ERP, project controls, procurement, contract management, or capital project software platforms.

• Preferred: understanding of project accounting, forecasting, cost controls, earned value, payment applications, supplier payments, and revenue management.

• Preferred: experience in modernizing enterprise software products and implementing AI-enabled capabilities.

• Preferred: exposure to pricing, monetization, business case development, or product profit and loss ownership.

• Preferred: experience in creating customer design-partner or lighthouse-customer initiatives.

• Degree or equivalent experience in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, business, computer science, or a related field.
