This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Establish and lead the product vision, scope, prioritization, and roadmaps, initially concentrating on Mapping and the quality of map data.
• Act as a liaison between engineering teams and stakeholders to collect user requirements and formulate product specifications.
• Specify product requirements, success metrics, and prioritization based on customer insights, market analysis, and business objectives.
• Collaborate with Mapping and Localization engineering to evaluate on-road data and map quality metrics, identifying key roadmap priorities.
• Create and support initiatives for process improvement and cross-functional alignment.
• Engage in company-wide planning and product prioritization activities.
• Evaluate customer, commercial, technical, legal, safety, and regulatory factors, providing recommendations for future actions.
• Define, communicate, and revise product plans and performance metrics.
• Develop and implement customer demonstrations and track outcomes from customer meetings.
• Conduct research and comparative analysis of competing products and mapping/localization methodologies.
• Monitor objectives that align with the overarching company vision and initiatives.
• Advocate for customer-driven development and foster a customer-centric culture.
• BS+ in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area with 10+ years of experience; or MS+ in a related field with 7+ years; or PhD+ in a related field with 5+ years.
• Highly experienced and adept in the field; capable of executing complex and significant tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proven track record with multiple products and a readiness to manage a diverse range of subjects.
• Familiarity with autonomous driving systems, advanced driver-assistance systems, mapping, localization, and/or related robotics technologies.
• Knowledge of automotive software, hardware, systems integration, verification and validation, testing, safety, and compliance.
• Comprehension of relevant autonomous vehicle safety standards and regulations, including ISO 26262, SOTIF, FuSa, UL4600, and AVSC.
• Bonus: experience with HD maps, localization, SLAM concepts, Lanelet2, OpenDRIVE, or third-party map data providers.
• Bonus: experience in defining Operational Design Domains (ODD).
• Bonus: familiarity with JAMA, Cameo, or similar tools.
• Bonus: experience in developing fault- and failure-tolerant safety-critical systems.
