This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of comprehensive product execution for one or more capabilities within Couchbase’s AI portfolio, spanning Capella and Couchbase Enterprise.
• Develop the roadmap and draft PRFAQs and PRDs for the capabilities you oversee.
• Work backwards from enterprise customers, validate concepts with designated clients, and make decisions on build-versus-defer tradeoffs.
• Collaborate closely with engineering to define the scope, rationale for architecture, quality standards, and launch timelines.
• Manage design partner programs and integrate customer feedback into roadmap strategies.
• Coordinate efforts with Core Database, Capella, Analytics, Mobile and Edge, and AI Specialist teams.
• Provide sales, sales engineering, PMM, and partner GTM teams with positioning materials, demonstrations, competitive insights, and customer proof points.
• Represent the product in customer briefings, webinars, blog posts, documentation, enablement materials, and analyst engagements.
• Utilize AI in product management research, PRFAQ creation, customer synthesis, competitive analysis, roadmap development, and engineering collaboration.
• Contribute to the standards for PRFAQs and PRDs, participate in interview processes, onboarding, and mentoring of early-career PMs.
• Deliver released capabilities with measurable adoption and identified reference customers.
• Report directly to the VP of AI Product Management.
• At least seven years of experience in product management, including a minimum of three years on a technical platform such as a database, data infrastructure, developer tools, or AI infrastructure.
• Technical proficiency in vector search, embeddings, RAG, agent frameworks, model serving, context engineering, and emerging interoperability standards.
• Ability to engage with engineering teams credibly on architecture, scope, and tradeoffs.
• A customer-centric, working-backwards approach to product management.
• Experience in leveraging AI for research, PRFAQ drafting, customer synthesis, competitive analysis, and roadmap modeling.
• Practical experience building with cutting-edge AI models, including APIs, code-generation tools, MCP, agent frameworks, and modern developer ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Anthropic’s Claude stack is highly preferred.
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in drafting PRFAQs and PRDs.
• Proven track record of guiding products and features from PRFAQ to launch and adoption.
• Experience in a database, data platform, or AI infrastructure company is a plus.
• Direct experience with vector search, agent memory, RAG pipelines, or model serving is beneficial.
• A public presence through blog posts, conference presentations, open-source contributions, or analyst-facing work is advantageous.
• Prior experience in mentoring is a plus.
