This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the AI product strategy and roadmap focusing on document intelligence, workflow automation, and data-driven decision making.
• Integrate AI thoroughly into Maxwell's mortgage Point of Sale, enhancing experiences for both borrowers and loan officers.
• Directly oversee AI engineers and data engineers, guiding their direction, alleviating obstacles, and nurturing team development.
• Collaborate with AI and data engineering teams to design, scope, and rapidly deliver production systems.
• Foster strong relationships with peers in Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience.
• Assess vendors and models based on cost, performance, and considerations for building versus buying.
• Manage the intake and prioritization of features, including assessment, sequencing, and delivery of AI feature requests.
• Develop an AI product roadmap within the first 90 days.
• Enhance the accuracy, reliability, and cost efficiency of POS AI capabilities within 180 days.
• Provide leadership with transparent, real-time insights into AI initiatives and progress.
• A minimum of 8 years in product management, with at least 3 years dedicated to AI/ML products in a production environment.
• Proven experience in delivering AI-powered features from initial problem definition to model deployment and evaluation.
• Experience in managing or mentoring AI engineers or data engineers directly.
• Strong technical fluency: Ability to read API documentation, evaluate model outputs, and collaborate with ML engineers without needing an intermediary.
• Robust data engineering fluency: Capable of reasoning about data pipelines, schemas, data quality, and the infrastructure that AI products rely on.
• Familiarity with LLM-based systems, including prompt design, RAG architectures, document intelligence, or related fields.
• Proven history of quickly delivering AI features, with a preference for learning through hands-on production deployment.
• Ability to articulate concise product specifications, lead cross-functional reviews, and present findings to executives.
• Established capability to manage relationships with peers in Product, Engineering, and Customer Experience.
• Data-driven prioritization skills: Proficient in assessing impact, weighing trade-offs, and making difficult decisions.
• Experience in fintech, mortgage, or regulated industries is a plus.
• Knowledge of how AI systems function within regulated environments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker) or equivalent cloud AI platforms is beneficial.
• Experience with document AI workflows is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, dbt, PostHog, Pendo, Mixpanel, and SQL is preferable.
• Experience in scaling a small AI product or engineering function is desirable.
