This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Collaborate with the Product Management and Strategy teams to transform emerging business concepts into testable inquiries and establish validation criteria.
• Manage the validation sprints comprehensively, from formulating assumptions and choosing methodologies to execution and analysis.
• Execute surveys, conduct customer interviews, perform onsite ethnographic studies, manage diary studies, and test concepts and prototypes, along with landing-page or demand tests.
• Develop prototypes that range from paper sketches and Figma workflows to functional prototypes enhanced by AI coding.
• Leverage AI tools to expedite design, prototyping, coding, and the synthesis of research.
• Recruit and engage coaches, players, families, and potential customers in new sports and markets.
• Provide evidence-based go/no-go recommendations to leadership, including suggestions against pursuing certain opportunities.
• Organize validated opportunities, evidence, concepts, and unresolved questions for handoff to product teams.
• Work collaboratively with User Research, Data & Analytics, Strategy, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Assist in establishing the Studio team’s playbook, rhythm, and standards to ensure adequate confidence.
• Report directly to the Vice President of Design.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product design.
• Ideally, experience with 0-to-1 projects, such as those in early-stage startups, new product incubation, innovation teams, or founding a company.
• A strategic curiosity regarding business opportunities and their viability.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, and capable of identifying the quickest route to solutions.
• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy and in uncertain environments.
• Prepared to independently plan, recruit, moderate, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research.
• Proficient in versatile prototyping skills encompassing sketches, interactive prototypes, and functional customer-facing prototypes.
• Fluent in or eager to master AI tools for design, prototyping, coding, and research synthesis.
• Strong storytelling skills for effectively presenting findings and recommendations to executives.
• Intellectually honest and focused on evidence-based outcomes.
• Knowledgeable about or passionate regarding sports and their communities.
• Bonus: Experience with early-stage startups, incubation, venture capital, or new-bets initiatives.
• Bonus: Experience in validating international expansion or new-market ventures.
• Bonus: Comfort with basic data analysis and interpreting experimental results.
