Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create exclusive furniture and home product collections encompassing upholstery, case goods, lighting, textiles, rugs, and accessories.

• Transform merchandising strategies, trend analysis, and conceptual inspiration into unique product ideas.

• Develop and deliver sketches, renderings, technical drawings, specifications, and design presentations.

• Assemble comprehensive product development packages that include dimensions, materials, finishes, and construction guidelines.

• Work directly with and collaborate closely with the Merchandising team throughout the design and development phases.

• Collaborate with Product Development and liaise with engineers and manufacturing partners as necessary to ensure production feasibility, quality standards, and cost objectives.

• Participate in prototype assessments, sample reviews, finish approvals, and product modifications when applicable.

• Assist in maintaining product development timelines and support seasonal launch schedules.

• Maintain a solid understanding of furniture construction, upholstery techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Utilize technical knowledge to guarantee design concepts are viable within manufacturing constraints.

• Facilitate communication between design vision and production execution with both internal and external partners.

• Conduct research and keep tabs on the competitive landscape within luxury interiors, staging, retail, hospitality, and contract trends.

• Contribute to the continuous development of Vesta’s distinctive product aesthetic.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in furniture or home product design within the luxury retail, interiors, hospitality, or contract sectors.

• A strong portfolio that showcases original furniture and home product design work.

• Experience in designing across various home categories is preferred.

• Knowledge of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Experience collaborating with overseas and/or domestic manufacturers.

• Ability to harmonize creative design with technical execution and production realities.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD software, and product specification development.
