This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create comprehensive experiences for gaiia's operational platform, from initial concepts and prototypes to finalized, deployed user interfaces.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to clarify vague challenges, establish direction, and convert strategic goals into defined scopes, robust interaction models, and sustainable design choices.
• Leverage research and rapid iteration to simplify, accelerate, and enhance trust in complex workflows.
• Influence squad priorities by elucidating trade-offs, defining success metrics, and uniting stakeholders around the optimal path forward.
• Develop and refine our design system to ensure teams deliver consistently high-quality experiences as the product scales.
• Thoughtfully utilize AI to explore additional options, expedite decision validation, and amplify the impact of your contributions.
• Collaborate with QA to review and confirm designs through testing, clear specifications, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Elevate the standard of craft, accessibility, and clarity by focusing on the details that make software intuitive.
• Contribute to the team's development by providing feedback, mentoring, and enhancing quality through design reviews and collaborative efforts.
• Over 8 years of experience in product design, accompanied by a portfolio that demonstrates strong craftsmanship and clear reasoning.
• Experience in designing intricate B2B web applications, particularly in operational areas such as Billing & Notifications, CRM, Product Catalog, Inventory/Fulfillment, Network & Geo, and platform tools (including AI-driven product interfaces).
• Proficient in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, FigJam) and comfortable incorporating AI tools in your workflow (e.g., Claude) along with user testing tools.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, with the ability to translate customer needs into straightforward, high-quality experiences.
• Experience in planning and conducting research (interviews, usability testing) and utilizing insights for iteration.
• Familiarity with mixed-method research, experimentation (A/B testing), and agile product development.
• Clear and structured communication skills, with the ability to foster alignment across design, product, and engineering teams.
• Comfort in fast-paced, highly iterative settings where ideas evolve through open dialogue and collaborative efforts.
• Strong design leadership: you offer a unique perspective, align teams, and take ownership of outcomes through effective follow-through.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to shift contexts across multiple projects.
• Receptive to feedback, with a readiness to refine, rethink, and reimagine your work.
• A bachelor’s degree in user experience design or a related field is advantageous.
