This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +25 more states.
• This role will concentrate on product data and business intelligence, supporting a broad array of business initiatives such as analytics, reporting, product filings, and the enhancement of new product capabilities in collaboration with various rating platforms.
• The position will collaborate closely with several business and IT departments, including agency operations, the business intelligence community, representatives from individual business units, and enterprise applications.
• Ability to tackle complex problems/projects where the analysis of situations or data necessitates a thorough evaluation of multiple factors.
• Support product management by providing essential analytical insights; conduct research, perform high-quality analyses, generate reports, and communicate key product performance metrics.
• Investigate vital business data through statistical analysis and data mining to identify historical trends that can be leveraged to enhance business performance.
• Develop scalable and adaptable data reporting and analysis solutions to meet the team's requirements.
• Oversee product performance/results in conjunction with actuarial, loss analytic, and performance analytics teams.
• Keep an eye on the marketplace for emerging opportunities and pinpoint competitor and industry changes that may affect the efficiency of current product offerings and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide technical and analytical leadership, managing aspects of project deliverables, including cross-functional program management, data gathering and manipulation, analysis and modeling, and the communication of insights and recommendations.
• Conduct data mining, pattern, and root cause analyses to aid business units in recognizing areas of untapped potential.
• Identify weaknesses and opportunities based on book performance.
• Develop an analytic data-driven strategy to address business inquiries related to product, pricing, processes, and/or underwriting rules to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate weaknesses.
• Collaborate with product management and actuaries in the development and filing of class, rate, and/or form filings.
• Create and implement automated technical solutions for complex, labor-intensive processes utilizing Microsoft tools.
• Offer guidance, collaboration, and execution of advanced data analyses.
• Enhance and maintain departmental data/databases.
• Engage in testing and QA of various inputs to and outputs from the data warehouse and Business Intelligence applications.
• 3+ years of experience as a product analyst or in similar roles with responsibilities as outlined above.
• Advanced and thorough understanding of the personal insurance business, including products, coverage, claims, underwriting, distribution channels, and business/sales centers.
• This role is expected to operate independently with minimal direction and oversight from a product manager or other product leadership.
• Strong leadership, innovation, and initiative skills.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
• Must be team-oriented and possess outstanding collaboration skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and SQL.
• Experience in Property Casualty insurance.
• Familiarity with business processes, data analysis, and data profiling; capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; ability to solve practical problems, deal with concrete variables, and interpret various instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; adaptability to a paperless environment.
