Senior Procurement Category Management Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the procurement process for key packaging categories, managing a complex spending portfolio valued at approximately $30–$40M.

• Collaborate across various departments to align on business requirements and implement effective sourcing strategies, supplier selection, pricing, contracting, and supplier performance management.

• Create and implement category strategies along with annual sourcing plans.

• Lead negotiations with suppliers to establish contract pricing, terms, and conditions.

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and maintain an ongoing savings pipeline.

• Conduct market research and keep abreast of industry trends.

• Oversee supplier performance and proactively identify and address supply risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree is required; ideally in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with strong expertise in packaging categories.

• Proven track record in procurement category management supporting manufacturing, commercial, and/or corporate operations.

• Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing and category management.

• In-depth knowledge of procurement methodologies and supplier markets.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.

• Background in leading change management initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
