Senior Process Control Engineer – Utilities

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Support mills in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of control systems.

• Provide troubleshooting assistance and support for daily manufacturing activities.

• Advise manufacturing operations on the selection and implementation of process control technologies and methodologies.

• Collaborate with local operations and process control teams to enhance the performance of existing process control assets.

• Aid in the design, programming, modification, and maintenance of mills’ control systems.

• Seek engineering solutions to address equipment deficiencies.

• Assist with capital projects, including control migrations, and the design and startup of both existing and new systems, acting as a corporate subject matter expert.

• Work in partnership with continuous manufacturing operations nationwide, with a focus on Utilities, Chemical Recovery, Lime Kiln, and Recaust processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical, or Paper Science Engineering.

• Demonstrated professional experience with DCS systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and design.

• Experience in utilities processes such as boilers, turbines, steam systems, black liquor evaporators, and/or lime kilns.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50–75% of the time.

• Preferred experience with steam header management systems, boiler tuning, and/or process optimization in the recovery cycle of kraft paper mills.

• Preferred familiarity with NFPA regulations and BLRBAC standards regarding boiler operating best practices.

• Preferred experience with Honeywell TDC, Honeywell Experion, or Emerson Delta-V.
