This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead or co-lead intricate privacy consulting projects from initiation to final delivery, which includes conducting stakeholder interviews, reviewing documentation, and performing analyses.
• Create high-quality privacy documentation, including policies, procedures, consent language, and privacy notices.
• Conduct legislative and regulatory research to provide client-specific guidance, identifying relevant compliance obligations and risks.
• Execute quality assurance checks on your own work, ensuring alignment with legal/regulatory requirements and client expectations.
• Develop project timelines and monitor progress, ensuring that milestones are achieved and deliverables are completed on time.
• Engage in client meetings to present findings, clarify recommendations, and address feedback.
• Stay informed about Canadian privacy legislation, case law, and regulator guidance, incorporating updates into project work.
• Recognize opportunities to enhance client outcomes through customized recommendations and practical implementation strategies.
• Assist in business development by contributing to proposals, scoping documents, and sample deliverables for potential clients.
• Review and provide feedback on Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), risk assessments, and other documents prepared by Privacy Consultants.
• Offer detailed feedback and coaching to Privacy Consultants to enhance the quality, structure, and clarity of deliverables, maintaining consistent quality standards across the team’s work.
• Serve as an escalation point for Privacy Consultants dealing with complex analyses or ambiguous legislative interpretations.
• Support the Manager in resource allocation, balancing workloads, and alerting when additional team support is required.
• Identify opportunities to enhance internal templates, guidance documents, and processes based on insights gained from reviewing deliverables.
• Share subject matter expertise on emerging trends, regulatory updates, and best practices through informal mentoring and knowledge-sharing.
• Play a pivotal role in product development alongside other PrivacyWorks team members as we continue to grow our offerings and clientele.
• Over 8 years of experience in information privacy.
• CIPP/C certification.
• Additional designations are highly desirable (CIPM, AIGP, CIPT, CIPP/EU, CIPP/US, CISSP, etc.).
• Professional certifications from the Privacy and Access Council of Canada (PACC), such as AAPP®, CAPP®, or MAPP®, are considered advantageous.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian Privacy legislation at both the National and Provincial levels.
• Familiarity with International privacy laws, including GDPR.
• Proven experience in assisting companies to implement extensive privacy and data protection programs.
• Strong technical skills and advanced proficiency with software such as Excel, Word, Visio (or other data mapping tools).
