This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead software design and development initiatives across various engineering teams and principal software engineers.
• Offer technical guidance, expertise, and effective communication of best practices throughout assigned IT portfolios.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to fulfill technical requirements and enhance interoperability.
• Support 4–6 development teams working on diverse products and APIs.
• Design and refactor systems to optimize cloud expenditures.
• Spot opportunities to streamline processes and improve codebases.
• Facilitate portfolio-level Principal meetings for alignment, consistency, and knowledge sharing.
• Create reusable foundational code components across the portfolio.
• Develop proofs of concept using new technologies and promote portfolio-wide adoption.
• Monitor cloud resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Address and resolve highly complex challenges faced by teams.
• Attend and present at conferences.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports.
• Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews and offer constructive feedback.
• Attract, retain, develop, and motivate talented individuals.
• Define technology solutions and contribute to the creation of technology roadmaps.
• Eliminate roadblocks and bottlenecks in cross-functional projects.
• Promote thought leadership and innovation.
• Escalate critical issues and outages.
• Support project, product, and support teams.
• Resolve technology disputes among local teams.
• Collaborate with vendors on software product feature enhancements.
• Advocate for effective tooling and technology utilization.
• Must be at least eighteen years old.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Proficient in at least two technologies utilized by THD IT.
• Familiarity with common business processes relevant to the retail industry.
• Experience in Agile/Lean development settings.
• 7 years of relevant work experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• One area of expertise must include a programming language.
• Ability to quickly comprehend complex systems.
• Mastery in assigned domains.
• Active involvement in or leadership of professional groups related to specific domains.
• 5 years of previous leadership experience is preferred.
• Remote/Virtual work arrangement.
• Overnight travel typically ranges from 5% to 20% of the time.
