Senior / Principal Python Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable backend services and APIs for cloud-native applications.

• Construct and enhance distributed systems, payment processing pipelines, and backend infrastructure.

• Ensure backend systems maintain high availability, security, scalability, and performance.

• Engage in architecture discussions and play a role in technical strategy and decision-making.

• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, AI, and DevOps teams to deliver top-notch solutions.

• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical advice, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Diagnose complex production issues and promote continuous improvements.

• Contribute to AI-driven product features and AI/ML initiatives.

• Advocate for engineering excellence, observability, and maintainability across services and infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional back-end software engineering experience with Python.

• Strong background in designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems.

• Proficient knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Practical experience with AWS cloud services.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of scalable cloud-native architectures and principles of microservices.

• Experience in cross-functional Agile teams.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.

• Capacity to drive technical initiatives and influence architectural decisions.

• Upper-Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.

• WILL BE A PLUS

• Familiarity with FastAPI and TypeScript.

• Experience in developing AI-driven user experiences or integrating AI/LLM services into front-end applications.

• Practical experience with AI technologies and LLM ecosystems.

• Experience with integrating OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar AI services.

• Experience with AI SDKs and prompt-based applications.
