Senior Principal Presales Systems Engineer, Cloud and AI Networking

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Serve as the lead technical architect during intricate sales processes.

• Convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Design comprehensive networking infrastructure for data centers, AI networking, hyperscale, and WAN environments.

• Oversee solution design and customization alongside specialists, systems engineers, and product teams.

• Present demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations.

• Collaborate with hyperscalers, large enterprises, service providers, and technology partners.

• Shape technical strategy through deal validation, solution development, and initial execution.

• Ensure a seamless transition to delivery teams.

• Create best practices, enablement materials, and architecture playbooks.

• Guide junior technologists and sales engineering teams.

• Uphold thought leadership in networking innovations and industry developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

• 10+ years of technical experience in network infrastructure architecture, design, and consulting solutions.

• Experience in designing large-scale AI, cloud data center, and hyperscale networking environments.

• 10+ years of industry experience with JunOS, EOS, IOS, and hyperscale network architecture frameworks.

• JNCIE or an equivalent certification is required.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in hyperscale routing, MPLS traffic engineering, switching, EVPN/VXLAN, MP-BGP, network fabrics, DCI solutions, provisioning, automation, and monitoring.

• Knowledge of networking silicon, hardware platforms, and software including Juniper, Arista, Cisco, SONiC, and Cumulus.

• Specialized knowledge in x86 virtualization, DPDK, SR-IOV, and SmartNICs.

• Proven track record in complex presales roles and building relationships with senior technical and C-level stakeholders.

• Experience in programming and scripting with Python, APIs, and JSON.

• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing abilities.

• Experience in designing and developing playbooks and conducting demonstrations or live walkthroughs.

• Proficiency in preparing RFP/tender response documents, bills of materials, commercial/pricing, and solution documentation.

• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including international travel on short notice.
