Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison – Surgical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Establish and nurture peer-to-peer relationships with medical professionals and key opinion leaders.

• Facilitate the development and widespread adoption of Alcon products through scientific exchange grounded in evidence.

• Collect external insights to shape and influence company strategies.

• Provide general medical information to healthcare practitioners and Alcon associates.

• Address unsolicited requests for medical information.

• Engage in scientific discussions regarding data related to Alcon products.

• Execute medical projects and oversee investigator trials from initiation to publication.

• Collaborate with Medical Information and Medical Safety teams to address escalated product complaints and medical safety concerns.

• Participate in adverse event reporting and monitor safety responsibilities.

• Oversee phase III and IV clinical trials for products in development.

• Ensure adherence to clinical trial protocols and assess study completion.

• Provide necessary reporting information for submissions to regulatory agencies.

• Act as a medical consultant for marketing, commercial, research, and regulatory teams.

• Serve as a consultant/liaison with corporations involved in licensing agreements.

• Approve product safety reviews.

• Interact with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, and other departments.

• Uphold integrity and compliance while ensuring rigorous quality control and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a directly related field.

• Alternative qualification: high school diploma plus 15 years of relevant experience.

• Alternative qualification: Associate degree plus 11 years of relevant experience.

• Alternative qualification: M.S. degree plus 4 years of relevant experience.

• Alternative qualification: PhD plus 3 years of relevant experience.

• A minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience.

• Proficient in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English.

• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Alcon products and current medical/scientific research.

• Adherence to GxP regulations, standard operating procedures, laws, industry standards, and company policies.

• Commitment to accurate and complete documentation.
