This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Design intricate FPGA systems.
• Establish and document requirements for new firmware designs utilizing enterprise tools such as Jama.
• Develop conceptual designs that encompass block-level architecture, clock and reset distribution strategies, and bandwidth/latency analyses.
• Generate comprehensive FPGA firmware designs at the register-transfer level using VHDL.
• Execute RTL synthesis and implementation with FPGA tools like Vivado.
• Assist in the integration of FPGA firmware at the board level.
• Produce FPGA verification artifacts employing VHDL, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
• Showcase FPGA firmware designs to certification authorities.
• Supervise initiatives and mentor less experienced designers.
• Acquire knowledge regarding aircraft vision systems, including video display and camera technologies.
• Cultivate project management abilities through project planning, schedule creation, and status updates.
• Contribute throughout the lifecycle, from defining requirements to final product certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline.
• Extensive FPGA development and verification expertise.
• Experience in FPGA design for video or image processing applications.
• Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Questasim is preferred.
• Proficient in VHDL is preferred.
• Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM for FPGA verification is preferred.
• Background in Linux/Unix environments is preferred.
• Exceptional hands-on laboratory skills for testing and validating FPGA designs in hardware.
• Knowledge of various test equipment.
• Aerospace experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with aerospace certification processes, particularly RTCA DO-254, is highly desirable.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to access information related to the applicable program/contract as a U.S. citizen.
