This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee PCB designs from initial concept to final manufacturing.
• Develop PCB, Circuit Card Assembly, and schematic drawings for suppliers.
• Conduct schematic capture, component placement, trace routing, and generate Gerber/ODB++ files.
• Utilize Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and BluePrint-PCB for design documentation.
• Design rigid, flex, and rigid-flex assemblies.
• Execute complete designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper modifications, and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate daily with engineering teams across Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering disciplines.
• Ensure that all design requirements are met while taking cost, cycle time, and manufacturability into account.
• Travel to El Segundo, California approximately three times annually.
• Participate in specific interview procedures in person at an RTX office if requested.
• Generally requires a University Degree or equivalent experience.
• Less than 2 years of relevant prior experience.
• Previous knowledge of PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles that influence circuitry and component layout is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the electrical design process, preferably using Siemens Xpedition Tools.
• Experience in laying out Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards.
• Capability to secure and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• An active and existing DoD Confidential security clearance is required from day one.
• A degree from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred but not mandatory.
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is desirable.
• Experience in board layout for single- and multi-lamination boards.
• Proficient in using Siemens Xpedition Enterprise, Altium, EAGLE, or similar layout tools.
• Familiarity with IPC 6012 and IPC 6013 standards is an advantage.
