ECAD Design Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop printed circuit boards from initial design to production.

• Generate PCB, Circuit Card Assembly, and schematic diagrams for suppliers.

• Execute schematic capture, component placement, trace routing, and create Gerber/ODB++ files.

• Utilize Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and BluePrint-PCB for schematic drawings.

• Design rigid, flexible, and rigid-flex circuit assemblies.

• Complete comprehensive designs, re-spins, update drawings, issue change notices, implement copper modifications, and engage in process improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate daily with Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering teams.

• Gather overall design requirements while factoring in cost, cycle time, and manufacturability.

• Travel to El Segundo, California approximately three times a year.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience.

• At least 2 years of professional experience.

• Proficient in a minimum of two areas: PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles impacting circuitry and component layout; electrical design processes; layout of Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Active DoD Confidential security clearance required from day one.

• Solid understanding of Analog, Digital including DDR, RF, Power, mixed technology, multi-layer designs, and HDI technology.

• Proficient technical PCB design skills using the Siemens toolset, including Xpedition Layout, schematic capture, placement, routing, auto-router, constraint manager, and library management tools.

• Experience with BluePrint for intricate PCB and CCA diagrams.

• Familiarity with Gerber and ODB++ export processes.

• Knowledge of Valor NPI, Design for Manufacturing guidelines, and Design Rule Checking software.

• Ability to comprehend and interpret PCB and CCA drawings.

• Acquainted with IPC 6012 and IPC 6013 standards.

• Understanding of military and commercial design standards, GD&T techniques, and electronic packaging manufacturability.

• Informed on RF circuitry and filter layout considerations.

• Comprehension of operating system concepts, implementations, and network services associated with Microsoft Windows environments.
