Senior Power BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports utilizing DAX and Power Query (M).

• Construct and enhance data models to guarantee reporting precision and performance.

• Oversee the Power BI environment, which includes managing datasets, workspaces, gateways, and service accounts.

• Handle Power BI access, licensing, refresh failures, and any platform-related challenges.

• Implement and sustain Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance measures to meet security and audit standards.

• Document the logic behind dashboards, data sources, business definitions, and reporting workflows.

• Collect and clarify reporting needs from business stakeholders and convert them into sustainable BI solutions.

• Collaborate with SQL and relational databases to facilitate reporting and data analysis.

• Employ data warehouse concepts and dimensional modeling techniques, including star and snowflake schemas.

• Comprehend ETL/ELT processes and how data pipelines contribute to BI reporting layers.

• Assist in the advancement of Power BI architecture as new data sources and semantic models are incorporated through the Data Warehouse initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of practical experience in Power BI development.

• High proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques.

• Strong SQL and Advanced SQL capabilities, with experience in relational databases.

• Comprehensive understanding of data warehouse principles and dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and their application in BI reporting.

• Hands-on experience in implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance strategies.

• Experience in administering the Power BI platform, which includes workspaces, datasets, gateways, and refresh management.

• Excellent analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in both Arabic and English, both spoken and written.

• Preferred: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification (PL-300) or its equivalent.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric.

• Preferred: Experience in a BI environment undergoing a Data Warehouse implementation or platform migration.
