Consultant – Power BI, Business Intelligence Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Facilitate consultations with project leadership, Finance, and MEL personnel to gain insights into reporting needs, KPIs, and decision-making requirements.

• Evaluate current reporting systems, data sources, and dashboards.

• Create data visualizations customized for various stakeholder groups.

• Suggest dashboard architecture and reporting methodologies.

• Design and construct Power BI dashboards that integrate BusinessWorld, Salesforce, internal project reporting systems, monitoring and evaluation databases, budget and financial management tools, and other authorized sources.

• Implement automated or semi-automated data refresh processes where practical.

• Develop a unified data model across different systems.

• Generate user-friendly visualizations, drill-down capabilities, and interactive reporting features.

• Create dashboards that track project performance, milestones, country and workstream performance, MEL indicators, operational risks, and implementation challenges.

• Design and visualize forecasting tools for anticipated performance, performance gaps, corrective measures, and trends.

• Develop dashboards for budget monitoring, burn-rate analysis, revenue tracking, expenditure forecasting, financial risk management, variance analysis, and financial performance at both cost-center and country levels.

• Set up threshold-based email or direct message alerts.

• Produce executive-level financial summaries.

• Create technical documentation and user manuals.

• Conduct demonstrations and training sessions for PATH personnel.

• Offer long-term recommendations for dashboard maintenance and enhancement.

• Deliver a comprehensive package including requirements assessment, dashboard design plan, data model and integration framework, operational dashboard suite, forecasting tools, documentation, training, and final handover.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Public Health, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in developing business intelligence solutions and dashboards.

• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard design.

• Proven experience in integrating data from various enterprise systems and databases.

• Required experience with BusinessWorld financial systems and reporting environments.

• Familiarity with Salesforce data and reporting structures.

• Experience in creating financial forecasting and performance management dashboards.

• Strong analytical, data visualization, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

• Preferred: experience in supporting donor-funded projects or large, complex international programs.

• Preferred: experience with monitoring and evaluation data systems.

• Preferred: experience in global health, public health, or international development initiatives.

• Preferred: understanding of milestone-based awards, performance management frameworks, and financial risk monitoring.
