Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of core platform infrastructure, which includes the Terraform migration involving VPC, IAM, and networking.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines along with environment provisioning.

• Create tools and abstractions that empower product engineers to deploy and operate code independently.

• Enhance observability infrastructure by implementing service instrumentation and metrics collection.

• Standardize monitoring and alerting for business operations, financial metrics, and synthetic monitoring metrics.

• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines, focusing on secrets migration and developing self-service deployment tools.

• Assist with GCP infrastructure tasks, including dead-letter queue management and ensuring messaging system reliability.

• Create compliance remediation tools, local development and onboarding solutions, GCP cost visibility, and infrastructure architecture documentation.

• Work independently on changes to production infrastructure.

• Collaborate directly with product engineers to remove obstacles in their work.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in a platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend engineering position with substantial infrastructure ownership.

• Proven experience in developing or significantly enhancing internal developer tools, CI/CD systems, or service platforms.

• Background in a startup or small-team setting with notable infrastructure ownership.

• Hands-on production experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP; AWS or Azure experience is also applicable.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with product engineering teams.

• Comfort in independently managing production infrastructure, including Terraform, IAM, and CI/CD.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Strong expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or ECS.

• Proven ability to build CI/CD pipelines from the ground up.

• Solid backend engineering capabilities in Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node.

• Experience in designing and maintaining internal APIs and service abstractions.

• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry.

• Understanding of secrets management, access control, and secure infrastructure patterns.

• Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, banking-as-a-service, or other regulated industries.

• Preferred: experience in building platform tools that support compliance.

• Preferred: experience with GCP and cross-cloud GCP/AWS infrastructure.

• Preferred: experience with database platforms.

• Preferred: experience in scaling internal platforms during periods of rapid engineering growth or transaction increase.
