Contract Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take charge of cloud access and identity management for a client team.

• Oversee a significant portion of the client's infrastructure-as-code.

• Regulate who and what can access resources throughout the cloud environment.

• Implement new tools alongside the existing cloud infrastructure.

• Manage shared infrastructure utilized by multiple teams.

• Execute careful change management and governance processes.

• Facilitate other teams that rely on shared infrastructure.

• Engage in the recruitment process, which includes interviews with Talent Partners, technical staff, and Client Partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong, hands-on experience with AWS, especially IAM, IAM Identity Center / SSO, and AWS Organizations (essential).

• Proficiency in Terraform.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Background in managing shared, high-blast-radius infrastructure.

• Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD, including OIDC federation to cloud providers.

• Knowledge of Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar monitoring tools.

• Some experience in Python or JavaScript for scripting tasks.

• Multi-cloud experience is advantageous.

• Strong commitment to clean engineering practices, including testing and reliability.

• Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance work, applying sound judgment to incorporate emerging technologies that provide value.

• Contract engagement on a B2B basis.

• Availability for a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
