Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• You will play a pivotal role on the team, taking charge of the success of various subsystems.

• You will engage in medium to large-scale team initiatives and will be capable of executing such projects within a year.

• You will assist in interviewing prospective team members.

• You will develop technical designs that proactively consider cost efficiency, security, and observability.

• You will produce technical plans, one-pagers, design reviews, and other documentation.

• You will utilize Kubernetes, GCP, Helm, Terraform, DataDog, ArgoCD, CircleCI, Atlantis, Docker, among other tools, to accomplish your tasks.

• You will be accountable for enhancing developer velocity across the organization (using frameworks like DORA) and strengthening our reliability and observability.

• You will take part in on-call rotations and contribute to maintaining the operational stability of Apollo.

• You will have full autonomy to identify and resolve the root causes of issues, decisively addressing any disruptive alerts.

• You possess systems expertise and have experience with stateless and fault-tolerant systems.

• You have utilized advanced tooling to not only improve your daily tasks but also to identify and resolve issues in production environments.

• You consider the balance between technical and business trade-offs and are skilled at anticipating future challenges.

• You are data-driven and have effectively used data to inform your decision-making processes.

• You are familiar with Kubernetes and GCP (preferably, though AWS or Azure experience is also welcome), as well as Terraform.
