This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of customers' production readiness for scalable operations and initiate the first production workflow.
• Develop guidelines and best practices for reliability, failure management, scaling, and upgrades.
• Empower developers and customer platform architects to master best practices for Temporal SDK and Server.
• Establish alert systems and resolve the most challenging tickets and issues faced by customers.
• Identify obstacles to activation and enhance customer costs and performance.
• Create and implement success plans driven by KPIs that align with production results.
• Set standards for patterns, training, governance, and operational preparedness.
• Facilitate coordination between Professional Services, Support, Partners, and internal teams.
• Oversee technical risks, migrations, and architectural liabilities.
• Define and verify standards for reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
• Monitor health indicators and take proactive measures.
• Conduct technical reviews, readiness assessments, and maturity evaluations.
• Certify teams and workloads as ready for production.
• Identify growth opportunities and collaborate with customers, Growth AEs, and Solution Architects to launch new workloads.
• Translate successful production outcomes into technical narratives for renewal and growth initiatives.
• Advocate for customer needs and real-world scenarios within the organization.
• Must be located in the Western Time Zone.
• 6+ years of experience in professional software engineering or solutions engineering.
• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and reliability engineering principles.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Java, TypeScript, or Python.
• Experience in building, deploying, and managing large-scale production systems.
• Capability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and assist customers in resolving them.
• Strong customer engagement skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
• Experience in creating technical documentation, runbooks, and educational materials.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings and team events.
• Prior experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with observability tools and practices for distributed systems is advantageous.
• Background in professional services, technical consulting, or solutions engineering roles is a bonus.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and infrastructure-as-code tools is preferred.
• Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities would be favorable.
• Experience in designing and delivering technical training or workshops would be a plus.
