Senior Platform and Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture for both backend and frontend applications, guiding them towards full maturity.

• Develop production-grade code in services with an emphasis on security, reliability, and sound architectural practices.

• Collaborate with the InfoSec team to implement security measures and minimize the attack surface.

• Enhance database practices, focusing on data modeling, schema design, roles, and permissions.

• Establish and uphold best practices for access control and permission management.

• Define infrastructure and implementation goals for the R&D DevOps team, ensuring successful delivery.

• Act as the definitive source for infrastructure and security-related decisions within Automation Ops.

• Mentor engineers on architectural design, secure coding techniques, and database management.

• Review code changes that impact infrastructure and security.

• Diagnose recurring failure causes and implement sustainable solutions.

• Document standards for infrastructure, operational procedures, and architectural choices.

• Assist in the migration of services to AWS by establishing target architectures and validating outcomes.

• Participate in the on-call rotation for infrastructure and security alerts exclusively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must be located in India.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles.

• Significant hands-on experience with application code development using Python.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS and cloud architecture, including ECS, RDS, SQS, IAM, API Gateway, and Lambda.

• Proficient in designing and reviewing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, staged rollouts, and rollback strategies.

• Experience in building and managing Docker containerized applications within ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.

• Strong backend engineering capabilities with the ability to make security-related decisions at the code level.

• Experience in advancing PostgreSQL practices like data modeling, roles, permissions, performance, and recovery.

• Practical experience in designing and enforcing access control and identity management.

• Proven experience collaborating with security teams to mitigate production attack surfaces.

• Familiarity with Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code platform.

• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

• Hands-on experience with AI infrastructure, either professionally or through personal projects.

• Experience deploying open-source models for local or self-hosted inference.

• Familiarity with operating cloud inference environments.

• Knowledge of model-serving platforms and inference runtimes.

• Experience in designing or deploying production AI agent systems.

• Experience implementing tracing, evaluation, and observability for AI agents.

• Familiarity with tools such as LangSmith, Langfuse, Arize Phoenix, or OpenTelemetry.

• Knowledge of compliance requirements such as SOC 2, GDPR, or similar standards.

• Experience with frontend applications developed using React and TypeScript.

• Capability to sit for extended periods.

• Must be available to work from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST.
