Senior Plastics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Assess custom plastic components to identify cost-effective materials, design, tooling, and manufacturing techniques.

• Create concepts for rotomolded or thermoformed scrubber vessels that incorporate integrated features.

• Lead supplier DFM evaluations and integrate viable suggestions into CAD designs and drawings.

• Analyze tooling simplification, part consolidation, assembly reduction, quality risks, and validation requirements.

• Assist in the analysis of nonconformance for injection-molded components.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in plastics product development, process engineering, tooling, or supplier engineering.

• Proficient in injection molding, with additional experience in either rotomolding or thermoforming preferred.

• Skilled in polymer material selection, tooling processes, and supplier DFM practices.

• Familiarity with part consolidation, wall-thickness control, draft features, ribs, bosses, undercuts, shrinkage, warpage, and tolerance design.

• Comprehensive understanding of plastic part design, tooling economics, DFM, GD&T, and supplier qualification.

• Proficiency in English at level B2–C1.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.

• Capability in technical leadership and decision-making.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills.

• Effective time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Detail-oriented approach with a strong emphasis on documentation discipline.

• Skills in supplier coordination and negotiation.
