This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +44 more states.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for OT systems, primarily focusing on the AVEVA PI System and its related data integrations.
• Configure and oversee data collection into the AVEVA PI System from various OT platforms, such as SCADA systems, DCSs, RTUs, PLCs, and additional data sources.
• Investigate, assess, and integrate complex or unfamiliar OT systems with the AVEVA PI System.
• Administer and provide support for AVEVA PI System components, including PI Data Archive, PI Collectives, PI Asset Framework (AF), Interfaces, Connectors, Adapters, AVEVA Connect, PI Web API, and PI Vision.
• Lead initiatives to enhance PI System architecture, data integrations, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to execute infrastructure upgrades, patching, and maintenance tasks.
• Design scalable and maintainable workarounds for system limitations.
• Prepare technical and business justifications for the modernization and expansion of infrastructure.
• Develop automation for system maintenance and custom telemetry feeds to third parties utilizing Python, PowerShell, and .NET.
• Direct the investigation and resolution of complex PI System issues impacting performance, reliability, and data availability.
• Maintain technical documentation for implemented solutions and integrations.
• Support Operations Engineering through the development and upkeep of data pipelines, integrations, and automation solutions.
• Sustain real-time data collection infrastructure to support control center operations.
• Lead onboarding processes for new project startups, encompassing point definition, system configuration, and stakeholder coordination.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
• A minimum of five years of experience administering enterprise-scale AVEVA PI environments, including Data Archives, PI Collectives, Asset Framework (AF), Interfaces, Connectors, Adapters, AVEVA Connect, PI Web API, and PI Vision.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts, including the ability to identify and troubleshoot communication issues.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as .NET, PowerShell, and Python.
• Experience managing PI Collectives and high-availability PI System environments.
• Familiarity with AVEVA Connect.
• Experience with relational database systems like Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as Emerson DeltaV, Emerson Ovation, or comparable platforms.
• Understanding of common industrial communication protocols like DNP3, Modbus, and OPC.
• Familiarity with industrial automation and integration devices, including SEL RTAC, OrionLX communication platforms, power meters, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of virtualized and cloud-based environments such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, and Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with SCADA platforms like Ignition by Inductive Automation, AspenTech OSI Monarch, GE WindSCADA, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of supporting infrastructure technologies, including UPS systems, server hardware, and networking equipment.
