Senior PHP Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance essential modules of a high-performance PHP platform.

• Ensure the codebase's reliability, maintainability, and scalability.

• Take technical ownership of vital business domains and services.

• Engage in architectural decision-making for a large-scale enterprise monolith.

• Create integration patterns with databases and external systems.

• Enhance modularity and maintain clear distinctions between platform components.

• Design effective data models and storage solutions.

• Optimize MySQL queries and ORM performance during high production workloads.

• Work with extensive datasets and contribute to analytical solutions using ClickHouse.

• Design and manage asynchronous processing solutions utilizing Apache Kafka.

• Develop reliable integrations between internal services and external systems.

• Embed telemetry into applications using solutions based on OpenTelemetry.

• Analyze application performance and pinpoint bottlenecks.

• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents in production.

• Contribute to practices around monitoring, logging, and tracing.

• Conduct impactful code reviews and mentor fellow engineers.

• Advocate for high development standards and best practices.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of commercial experience in PHP development.

• Strong expertise in PHP 8.x and contemporary backend development methodologies.

• In-depth knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.

• Experience in building and maintaining large-scale backend systems.

• Technical Skills

• Solid experience with Symfony and/or Laravel frameworks.

• Advanced proficiency in MySQL, including:

• Query optimization

• Indexing strategies

• Replication

• Locking mechanisms

• High-volume data processing

• Experience with Redis.

• Practical experience with Apache Kafka.

• Understanding of observability, logging, and application profiling.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes technologies.

• Experience in CI/CD environments.

• Nice to Have

• Experience with ClickHouse at scale.

• Experience in building analytics or data lake solutions.

• Experience in refactoring large monolithic applications into modular domains.

• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
