This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes to guarantee a smooth and positive experience for all staff members.
• Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to facilitate the hiring process.
• Evaluate HR metrics and generate reports to assist management in making decisions regarding staffing, turnover, and cost analysis.
• Provide awareness and support in mediating and resolving disputes, disagreements, and conflicts between employees, or between employees and management.
• Assist in the fair, consistent, and legally compliant application of the company's disciplinary procedures, including termination when necessary.
• Manage and implement the complete payroll process for all US and international employees (including contractors) utilizing our existing payroll systems.
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of salaries, deductions, taxes, and statutory contributions while adhering to local, state, federal, and international regulations.
• Maintain detailed employee records, ensuring data integrity and compliance across all HR systems.
• Act as the primary internal resource for HR compliance, remaining updated on all pertinent US labor laws (federal and state) and international employment legislation.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of HR experience, with proficiency in multi-state US payroll and foundational knowledge of EOR/HRIS systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-state US payroll (CA, NY, etc.) and international payroll/HR administration (e.g., Canada, UK, Europe, etc.).
• Experience in hiring employees internationally, with a comprehensive understanding of international labor laws, benefits, and compliance.
• Proficient in HRIS/Payroll systems such as Gusto, Deel, Pebl (or similar), and Google Workspace.
• Strong Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, data validation, as well as lookup and conditional functions.
• Preferred: Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR) and experience with Lattice.
