This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee daily HR operations, which include payroll processing, benefits administration, leave management, and various employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, offboarding, role modifications, and leave processing;
• Act as the main point of contact for employee relations issues, addressing sensitive situations with care, consistency, and sound judgment;
• Manage immigration procedures for staff, collaborating with external counsel as necessary;
• Ensure accurate maintenance of employee files, perform I-9 verifications, and assist with audits and compliance reporting;
• Continuously enhance HR data systems and reporting to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and valuable insights for decision-making;
• Keep abreast of changes in employment law, compliance requirements, and HR regulations across all states where Murmuration operates, proactively identifying implications and implementing necessary policy or practice updates before issues arise;
• Draft and uphold HR policies that are transparent, equitable, and aligned with our values and legal responsibilities;
• Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys and programming;
• Identify and rectify operational inefficiencies; if something is unclear, inefficient, or missing, you recognize it and take action;
• Collaborate with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) steering committee to integrate equitable practices into people systems, policies, and programs;
• Design, develop, and deliver training sessions for employees and managers, including specialized programs that foster inclusive leadership and equitable people practices;
• Create practical resources such as guides, templates, facilitation materials, and training curricula that empower managers in their roles;
• Evaluate learning needs throughout the organization and formulate targeted programming that addresses specific gaps rather than generic content;
• Confidently facilitate training sessions and workshops in both live and asynchronous formats;
• Build and maintain a Learning & Development resource library accessible to managers and staff on demand;
• Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and refine them based on feedback and outcomes;
• Minimum of 7 years in progressive HR/People Operations roles, with significant experience in both HR operations and learning & development;
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance, including experience working across multiple states;
• Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs and developing manager resources, rather than merely administering them;
• Proficient in HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and HR data reporting, with a quick adaptability to learning new tools;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to convert data into actionable insights;
• Capability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity;
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
• Strong interpersonal abilities, capable of building relationships and influencing individuals at all organizational levels;
• Experience working in a remote, distributed work environment;
