This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Supervise payroll tax filing operations, ensuring the precise and timely submission of federal, state, and local tax returns in accordance with filing requirements.
• Oversee payroll tax systems and software, implementing necessary updates and enhancements while remaining informed about system changes and industry developments.
• Maintain and verify tax data, encompassing rates, frequencies, and form inputs, to guarantee accurate calculations, filings, and payments.
• Compute and apply adjustments, deductions, credits, and relevant fees based on the complexity of returns and processing requirements.
• Monitor and track filing activities through internal tools and spreadsheets, making sure that deadlines and special considerations are adhered to.
• Investigate and address tax correspondence, resolving issues and responding to inquiries from clients, employees, and regulatory bodies.
• Assist with client onboarding and expansion by facilitating tax registrations and agency setups in new jurisdictions. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve payroll tax and system-related challenges, providing guidance, feedback, and customer support.
• Keep abreast of changes in tax laws, payroll regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure sustained accuracy and adherence.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of payroll tax experience.
• Required proficiency with ADP SmartCompliance, ADP Registration Services, iReports, Late Original Filing, and PQA.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and experience with payroll or tax systems.
• Exemplary attention to detail and accuracy.
