Senior Payroll Tax Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish, coordinate, and reconcile payroll taxes across multiple states.

• Work in collaboration with Corporate and Field divisions to identify, analyze, document, and report on accounting and tax issues.

• Complete and support relevant payroll tax returns and reports.

• Review and assess data to ensure accurate tax payments.

• Maintain payroll tax information, including new tax rates and identification numbers.

• Guarantee precise and timely payments via check, electronic transfer, or wire transfer.

• Monitor and track jurisdictional inquiries and tax applications until resolution.

• Conduct audits to ensure data integrity and collaborate with the Front End processing team to rectify errors.

• Develop new or more efficient auditing methods.

• Complete documentation for Smart Compliance fallout and employee tax transfers.

• Assess fringe benefit processing.

• Keep current due-date calendars, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.

• Identify opportunities for value addition and process streamlining.

• Undertake miscellaneous projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with payroll tax regulations, including the registration and maintenance of state payroll tax accounts.

• Strong understanding of the payroll lifecycle, amendments, and taxable wages.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with ADP Smart Compliance.

• Knowledge of Workday.

• Effective communication skills with individuals across all organizational levels.

• Excellent time management abilities and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.

• High attention to detail with the capability to analyze and resolve problems in a team setting.

• Strong stakeholder mentality, maintaining propriety and confidentiality.

• Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations with multiple competing deadlines.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and/or payroll tax compliance.

• Experience managing payroll tax across multiple states is preferred.

• Certification as a CPP or FPC is preferred.
