This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Process intricate multi-state payrolls for the U.S. and Canada while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.

• Examine payroll transactions, including wage calculations, deductions, withholdings, taxes, fringe benefits, and employee alterations, and resolve any discrepancies.

• Reconcile payroll, tax, and bank accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations, union agreements, payroll legislation, and reporting obligations.

• Oversee payroll-related initiatives, monitor action items, follow up with stakeholders, and drive projects to successful completion.

• Manage daily prioritization and communication regarding payroll matters, tax issues, and system enhancements.

• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and outsourced payroll providers to enhance processes and systems.

• Create, analyze, and distribute payroll, year-end, union fringe, general ledger, audit, and management reports.

• Keep track of union and regulatory changes and suggest necessary payroll configuration adjustments.

• Maintain precise and confidential payroll records and documentation.

• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation, addressing inquiries, and recommending control improvements.

• Provide leadership and project management assistance during payroll system implementations, stabilizations, and post-go-live activities, including Workday.

• Engage in payroll system clean-up, technical processing, and continuous improvement initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.

• At least 3 years of experience in union payroll processing and reporting.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with prevailing wage payroll.

• At least 3 years of advanced technical payroll experience, including intermediate to expert Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros) and the ability to quickly grasp new systems.

• At least 1 year of experience in certified payroll reporting.

• A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with Workday payroll.

• Strong understanding of payroll tax, wage and hour regulations, union rules, and fringe benefits.

• Proficient in payroll reconciliation, covering payroll, tax, and bank accounts.

• Capability to perform job costing and related payroll allocations.

• Experience with union payroll requirements and reporting.

• Strong analytical skills necessary to generate and interpret payroll and general ledger reports.

• Excellent organizational and time management competencies to handle multiple priorities in a rapidly growing environment.

• Clear and professional communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and outsourced payroll providers.

• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and dedication to maintaining confidentiality.

• Experience with CMiC or similar construction or project-based systems is advantageous.

• Background in mechanical contracting, construction, or engineering environments is a plus.

• Experience supporting large-scale payroll system implementations and post-go-live stabilization is beneficial.

• Proven ability to identify, recommend, and implement payroll process improvements and internal control enhancements.

• Comfort in a high-growth, fast-paced organization with evolving systems and processes.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating with a remote team.
