Payroll Analyst I – General Ledgers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Generate precise payroll entries for unionized personnel represented by over 175 local Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)

• Analyze and interpret ratifications of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and implement them into payroll processes

• Calculate and assess contributions for union health & welfare and pension, along with monthly reporting

• Maintain, evaluate, and report accurate deductions for union dues as per directives from local unions

• Prepare and submit contributions for union 401K reporting on a weekly basis

• Conduct audits of payroll cycles for deductions and transactions, which include retro calculations, union dues, FLSA premiums, and union benefit premiums

• Manage special payments in accordance with collective bargaining agreements, such as vacation buybacks, boot allowances, safety incentives, and other union bonuses

• Collaborate with HR Management, Total Rewards, HRIS, Field Management, and cross-functional payroll teams

• Generate payroll reports upon request

• Share knowledge with other team members and provide support to the team

• Execute payroll system testing and configuration, along with other assigned tasks

• Focus on general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in multi-state payroll processing

• Fundamental understanding of the regular rate of pay calculation as dictated by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Teams

• At least 3 years of experience in payroll, finance, or a related field

• Experience managing payroll for large organizations, specifically those with 10,000 or more employees

• Background in handling multiple union payrolls

• Experience with Workday or a comparable Human Capital Management (HCM) system

• Intermediate proficiency in Excel, particularly with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions

• Experience using payroll software such as ADP, Lawson, Ceridian, and Kronos

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential preferred
