This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and implement the complete processing of multi-state semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles to guarantee accuracy and adherence to regulations.
• Conduct audits and reconciliations of all payroll-related data, including salaries, deductions, tax entries, contributions, and time and attendance records.
• Collaborate with People Operations to manage employee lifecycle changes, leaves of absence information, and benefits deductions impacting payroll processing.
• Manage the registration and tax compliance setup for various state and local tax jurisdictions, ensuring all employer accounts remain compliant.
• Assess, analyze, and revise internal payroll tax procedures to proactively address operational risks and compliance issues.
• Assist with year-end processes, payroll tax filing verifications, and the organized preparation of annual employer reporting documents.
• Perform routine audits of benefit plan payroll deductions and carrier invoices to ensure data alignment within the system.
• Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries, offering clear, empathetic, and timely resolutions to payroll-related questions.
• Collaborate on payroll system workflows, leveraging automation to decrease manual data tracking and improve operational efficiency.
• Gather and present detailed payroll reporting insights to support internal compliance documentation and financial reconciliation efforts.
• A minimum of 5 years of focused payroll administration experience with multi-state tax compliance and regulatory knowledge.
• Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal wage-and-hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Direct experience in managing payroll systems and navigating software infrastructures for data updates.
• Strong technical skills with data verification tools, standard formulas, and the ability to compile accurate pivot tables.
• Demonstrated analytical skills to audit complex datasets, identify payroll issues, and rectify data errors.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proven track record of maintaining confidentiality with sensitive compensation information.
• Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is preferable.
• Previous experience managing specialized equity compensation payrolls or collaborating with international employer-of-record models is a plus.
