Senior Patient Accounts Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Accurately prepare, edit, and submit both electronic and manual insurance claims to regulatory payers in a timely manner.

• Handle primary, secondary, late charge, and corrected claims processing.

• Review and address billing edits using EPIC and the claims scrubber system.

• Ensure the accuracy of claims submitted to payers.

• Reconcile claim runs effectively.

• Generate electronic claim files.

• Resolve claim discrepancies and collaborate with the third-party clearinghouse or claims scrubber vendor to ensure clean claims submission.

• Identify and report recurring billing errors and trends to the supervisor as necessary.

• Conduct research and analysis of coding errors.

• Document billing issues and emerging trends.

• Assist in problem-solving and developing solutions.

• Process credit balances owed to regulatory payers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of coursework or training in medical terminology and medical coding from an accredited institution, or equivalent practical experience in a billing position.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital insurance regulatory billing, inclusive of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Labor & Industries (L&I).

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, or Health Care Administration is preferred.

• A strong technical background, particularly with experience in automated systems, is preferred.

• Familiarity with Provider One, MECA, FSS0, and/or CWF is preferred.
