Senior Operations Communications Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement proactive internal communication strategies and tactics that align with operational objectives, enhance leadership visibility, and boost team member engagement, including management of the Operations’ editorial calendar, channel strategy, leadership cadence, intranet/digital workplace content, live forums, video, and manager toolkits.

• Act as a trusted communications advisor to the COO and the Operations Leadership Team, offering guidance, crafting executive messaging, and developing content for speeches, talking points, newsletters, videos, presentations, leadership forums, and other forms of communication.

• Collaborate with the Director of Corporate & Digital Communications to spearhead Operations’ editorial planning and communication frameworks that keep frontline and operational teams informed, aligned, and engaged.

• Simplify complex operational, technical, and business topics into clear, compelling communications by working across functions to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with business objectives.

• Prepare and implement internal communications regarding operational issues, sensitive matters, and issues management, working alongside Corporate Affairs, Legal, People/HR, Safety and Security, and Operations leaders to deliver timely, accurate, and values-driven messaging.

• Develop communication toolkits, talking points, cascades, and Q&A materials for field leaders and managers that enable base and operational leaders to communicate effectively with their teams.

• Generate communications for dispersed, frontline, and deskless teams, utilizing digital-first, manager-led, and operational channels to ensure essential messages reach team members.

• Formulate and execute change communication plans for operational priorities, process modifications, transformation initiatives, organizational updates, and other situations requiring clear understanding and adoption by team members.

• Collaborate with the Corporate Affairs Leadership Team to assess and gather insights on communication effectiveness, reach, engagement, and team member understanding, using the results to enhance future communications.

• Utilize AI tools, video editing, and creative technologies to elevate communications, storytelling, and content creation.

• Participate in the ongoing improvement of communication processes, tools, and channels.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in internal communications, employee communications, executive communications, or related roles in communications.

• Excellent writing and speechwriting skills, capable of adjusting tone and messaging for various audiences and leaders, with proficiency in AP Style and high editorial standards.

• Proven experience in advising and supporting senior executives and leadership teams.

• Experience functioning as an embedded communications business partner to senior leaders or within a major business function.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong fluency and curiosity in AI, including familiarity with generative AI tools to boost productivity, expedite research and drafting, synthesize information, and aid in communications planning while exercising sound judgment and editorial oversight.

• Experience working with large operational organizations or enterprise-wide employee audiences.

• Proficient in video editing, digital content, and creative technologies to enhance communications and storytelling.
