Senior Operations Analyst, Student Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Performs processing tasks within Student Finance functions to ensure operational efficiency and support critical workloads.

• Acts as a cross-functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Student Financial Aid, Billing, and Payment systems.

• Executes and verifies complex financial transactions, guaranteeing data integrity across various systems.

• Assists with escalations and exception management that require extensive system knowledge.

• Leads initiatives to optimize Student Financial systems and workflows.

• Designs and implements automation solutions utilizing Power Automate, alongside other automation and AI platforms, Power Query, and reporting tools.

• Collaborates with IT to define system requirements and propose enhancements.

• Drives enhancements in audit, reconciliation, and compliance processes.

• Reduces manual tasks through automation and process redesign.

• Works with operational leaders to pinpoint opportunities for AI-driven improvements.

• Analyzes data across systems to uncover trends and risks.

• Develops KPI dashboards, operational scorecards, and performance monitoring frameworks that aid in management decision-making.

• Assists with capacity planning, workload forecasting, and scalability assessments within Student Finance operations.

• Establishes frameworks for data validation and monitoring.

• Maps and redesigns workflows using visualization tools to enhance efficiency and scalability, while maintaining SOPs and process documentation according to best practices.

• Utilizes design thinking, systems thinking, and data-driven methodologies to identify root causes and create sustainable solutions.

• Conducts process experiments, pilots, and proof-of-concept initiatives to validate proposed operational enhancements and emerging technologies.

• Aids in project planning, requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, implementation activities, and post-launch performance evaluation.

• Evaluates emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness and the student experience.

• Drives measurable advancements in performance metrics.

• Serves as a liaison between Student Finance, IT, and Operations teams.

• Supports project execution and ensures successful implementation.

• Contributes to training and change management initiatives.

• Facilitates workshops and discovery sessions to translate business requirements into digital capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

• 4–6+ years of experience in student finance operations or process optimization.

• Familiarity with systems such as Banner, Salesforce, and ProSAM or other Financial Aid Management systems.

• Experience with Federal Student Aid, third-party billing, and VA web-based applications.

• Must maintain access to federal systems, which requires no defaulted federal student loans.

• Strong technical skills in Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, and Power BI or similar technologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.

• Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, systems, and tools in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
