Senior Network Engineer – Industrial AI Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia.

📋 Description

• Develop and automate a network platform for the automation and management of network components.

• Facilitate and assist with network lifecycle processes.

• Configure and sustain InfiniBand switches in accordance with ITIL standards.

• Create and sustain automation scripts.

• Manage network environments, including applying patches and overseeing firmware updates.

• Enhance and refine incident, problem, and change management workflows.

• Collaborate closely with Platform Engineers and AI solution teams.

• Advise on and implement cutting-edge technologies.

• Mentor and train team members.

• Deliver project outputs to meet the project's objectives.

• Conduct research and development in assigned technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Technologies.

• Proven experience in network installation, maintenance, and operations.

• Proficient in NVIDIA/Mellanox switch configuration and UFM management.

• Knowledge of Data Center routing and BGP/OSPF; ASNs, IP Transit, peering, and failover connectivity.

• Expertise in Linux networking (Cumulus/Ubuntu/Debian); configuring bridges, bonds, VLANs, and routing tables.

• Familiarity with tools such as iperf, ethtool, nvidia-smi, perfquery, and NVIDIA/Mellanox diagnostics.

• Experience in monitoring, incident detection, and root-cause analysis in large-scale data center networks.

• Skills in firewall and security management (FortiGate: policies, NAT, VPNs, IDS/IPS, HA); including security segmentation, DDoS mitigation, and zero-trust networking.

• Experience in switch provisioning, firmware/OS upgrades, patching, and configuration backups.

• Knowledge of VMware, specifically VMware Tanzu Kubernetes.

• Proficient in scripting languages such as Go, Python, and Bash.

• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, and Helm.

• Experience with CI/CD in Kubernetes environments and repository management.

• Proficiency in Git-based automation (GitHub/GitLab) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).

• Strong Linux OS administration skills.

• Understanding of Software-Defined Networking (SDN).

• Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (Grafana, Prometheus).

• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, teamwork, presentation, and negotiation skills.
