This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The goal of the U.S. Army is to employ PdM GENM-A as the resource to spearhead the modernization, expansion, enhancement, and upgrades of various types of IT infrastructure, IT systems, IT support systems, communications systems, and related infrastructure, hardware, and software collectively known as COMPMOD for the Army's CONUS installations.
• This initiative will enable the Government to acquire cutting-edge IT technology and upgrade outdated IT systems to satisfy mission requirements on an enterprise scale, in alignment with the Army Unified Network Plan.
• During the survey phase, the survey team will evaluate all relevant GENM-A capabilities being implemented at each installation.
• This position involves executing highly detailed technical tasks, leading Network Installation Technician field teams in site operations, and is accountable for designing, deploying, and managing intricate IT solutions to fulfill the organization’s technological demands.
• A robust background in system implementation architecture and a comprehensive understanding of diverse IT infrastructure components is essential for this role.
• At least 5 years of verifiable experience with the CAMS Software Module (or a comparable commercial SAP module) in any industrial environment, including two years of experience in Army Industrial Base Operations (IBO) SAP.
• Experience in planning and executing complex and detailed technical projects from the survey and engineering phases to site implementation.
• Develop and uphold high standards of installation and service, and assist in leading, training, and mentoring network installation technicians towards high performance.
• Act as a technical knowledge resource for project managers and field technicians.
• Collaborate directly with project managers as the primary point of contact for field installation teams supporting the PM’s projects.
• Assume responsibility for the development and quality assessment of all field deliverables before formal submission to the SME or project manager.
• Maintain accountability for the task-oriented efforts of personnel assigned to projects.
• Assist in ensuring engineering schedules are met or surpassed.
• Work alongside stakeholders to comprehend requirements and translate them into thorough IT implementation designs.
• Lead the implementation and deployment of IT systems, ensuring compliance with project timelines and quality standards.
• Conduct physical onsite network surveys to ascertain the engineering solution for each assigned project.
• Provide client-site network installation support for hardware, including the installation of entire service delivery nodes, as specified in Site Engineering Solution (SES) documentation.
• Prepare and deliver complex site reports, documents, diagrams, and VISIO drawings as necessary to satisfy customer deliverable requirements. Train and certify others to achieve the same level of proficiency.
• Offer input to the field technicians group to assist in creating procedural documentation for field tasks, such as BER testing, platform configurations, and deliverables.
• Configure installed technology, which may encompass cryptographic, MPLS, optical, and timing equipment and supporting systems.
• Conduct troubleshooting and fault-isolation to restore installed equipment to a functional state. Collaborate with network engineers to facilitate installation testing and acceptance.
• Provide training on conducting site surveys to generate detailed and accurate site survey reports.
• Ensure that team members are sufficiently trained and equipped with the necessary tools to succeed.
• Help cultivate operational and field quality expectations among the network installation technicians to maintain and improve the overall perception of and confidence in By Light site work.
• Generate, direct, and oversee the preparation of Site Engineering Solution (SES) documentation, site survey report (SSR) documentation, site concurrence letters (SCLs), Site Implementation Plan (SIPs), and Indentured Bill of Materials (IBOM)/Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) documents, based on site-specific requirements.
• Assess, design, build, and document current site network configurations and user requirements at each site. Interpret SES according to real-world conditions encountered at client sites and modify solutions/designs accordingly.
